I purchased the Omi AI after seeing massive hype all over the internet. The marketing claims were impressive — AI note-taking, live listening, voice transcription, summaries, “second brain” features, and productivity enhancement. But after using the device in real life, the experience was disappointing. First, the device itself costs around $100, and even after purchasing it, users still need to pay for a subscription once the free usage limit is crossed. For the price, the hardware feels very basic. In reality, it works more like a Bluetooth microphone than a revolutionary AI wearable. The app experience is another major problem. There is noticeable lag in voice processing. Sometimes conversations take 2–3 minutes to appear as text, which completely breaks real-time usability. For a product focused on productivity and AI assistance, speed and reliability are extremely important. Language support is also limited. The device mainly works well in English and a few major languages, but it does not properly support Telugu and several other native Indian languages. That makes it difficult for many users outside English-speaking audiences. The biggest issue is value for money. Instead of spending $100+ on this device and then paying monthly subscription charges, it makes more sense to buy premium earbuds like the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 or similar products that offer excellent audio quality, calling features, ANC, and daily usability. Pros: • Clean concept and interesting idea • AI summaries can sometimes be useful • Lightweight and portable Cons: • Expensive for the features offered • Requires additional subscription payments • Feels like a basic Bluetooth microphone • Slow transcription and lag issues • Limited language support • Not useful enough for everyday productivity Overall Rating: 2/5 Stars If you are planning to buy Omi AI expecting a true “AI second brain” experience, keep your expectations realistic. Right now, the product feels more like an overhyped gadget than a must-have AI productivity device.
